What is the difference between option D and E?
As far as i know that claim stands for "conclusion".
Here BF2 is nothing but a premise supporting the claim : "Thus, people who credit High Renaissance painters with superior artistic skills are misguided."
So Answer should be E?
Please let me know the flaw in my reasoning?

Thanks,
Ankit

Main conclusion: People who credit High Renaissance painters with superior artistic skills are misguided --> This is the position taken in the argument.
BF2 is not the main conclusion. Rather, BF2 adds value to the conclusion. So option E is out.

In my understanding, the position this argument wants to hold is the conclusion, that the people who praise are misguided. Is it a thumb rule that the position that author wants to take is always the conclusion?
