So, I'm in a relationship with someone, and we've talked about her accompanying me to business school when I go for my MBA in two years or so (i.e. starting in the Fall of 2013). Here's the rub:
- I'm a citizen of Country X (where we're both living).
- She's a citizen of Country Y (she's in Country X on a student visa).
- The MBA would be in country Z (actually, one of several countries, all in the Schengen Zone).
As I said earlier, we're just in a relationship - i.e. not married. I know that business schools promise support for relocating a family, but how "official" does this family have to be? I'm definitely considering marrying her, but it's not something that we'd be able to do at this point in our lives - I have my work on one side of the city, and she has her education at the other side, and it'd be too expensive for us to get something in "the middle". If it really came down to it, I think we'd be able to move forward on the relationship question, but I wouldn't want us to get forced into it. Would this be something that I'd have to discuss with the business schools I'm considering, or does anyone have experience with a situation like this?
