Hello,
I am planning for a part time MBA program in either PENN state online or University of Massachusets,Amherst.
My Profile:
Age 34. work experience 10 years.
1. Bachelor in computer science 1996,GPA > 3.0
2. Working currently as a IT team lead in a big Financial institution in US. Good understanding of a few financial domains. worked with a global teams in countries US,Germany,India at the same time as a technical lead.
3. Worked throughout the career under stringent deadlines and achieved allocades for On time and Quality project implementations.
4. Just completed a successful implementation . I was leading the implemetation in terms of planning, executing ,monitoring.
worked with 4 teams placed globally. Reegineered the whole application deployment/release process for the program as part of the implementation.
4. Got a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Career goals
1. Short term, move up in the chain in current organization in a management role.
2. Long term, build expertise in management to switch career.I am considering 2 options.
a. Start my own company. The area I wish to work in supply-chain management in my native country to help poorer sections of the society to have access to basic necessities like food,medicines,books etc.
b. Work towards a job in Investment banking.
I cannot afford a full time mba in terms of financial responsibility and Job.
Do you think, an Online MBA is fit for my profile and career goals.

Online programs could be one option for you as long as you aim for programs that have ranked, nationally known full-time programs in addition to their online programs (e.g., Indiana). Given your profile and goals and assuming a high 600 or even 700 GMAT, you get into both those programs. You might also consider part-time programs at Carnegie Mellon, Rochester (Simon), and perhaps Texas Austin.
