(B) Neither of our school’s students nominated for the national spelling bee was Correct

(C) Neither of the students from our school nominated for the national spelling bee were Incorrect

Neither is singular, so were uses wrong
Eliminate - A, C & D

Choice e has redundant problem, neither means - no one
so one uses is redundant

A) Neither of our school’s students nominated for the national spelling bee were — SV error. “Neither” is an indefinite pronoun that always require a singular verb.

(B) Neither of our school’s students nominated for the national spelling bee was — correct answer

(C) Neither of the students from our school nominated for the national spelling bee were — same as A. Eliminate

(D) Neither of the students nominated for the national spelling bee from our school were — same as A. Eliminate.

(E) Neither one of our school’s students who was nominated for the national spelling bee was — Though the problem in A is fixed, the “who was” has a SC error since the subject of relative clause “who...bee” is school’s students (plural) and hence required a plural verb (were)
