Two Lines will Intersect only if lines are NOT parallel

Lines will be parallel only if their slopes are EQUAL

Slopes of y=3x+2 and y=kx are 3 and k respectively

therefore, for them to intersect, k must NOT be equal to 3

i.e. k may be -3 or -1 out of the given choice

Answer: Option D

Answer D.

All the diagrams are shown in the diagram below.

y=3x and y=3x+2 means the lines are parallel and the 2nd line is just two units above the first.

==>For the two straight lines to intersect with each other, the slope has to be different. Hence, from y=kx, it has to be k≠3, so I & II is the answer. The answer is D.

y = 3x +2
y = kx

3x +2 = kx
x = 2/k-3

K cannot take the value of 3 as it 2/0 is undefined.

Slope cannot be same, hence k cannot be 3
