Emory 2012 - Calling All Applicants

I received an admissions call on Wednesday and was offered a scholarship: roughly 50% of tuition! So excited. Going to send in my deposit before they change their mind.

Congrats to all admits. I checked OPUS at 2 am last tuesday, and then finally got some sleep. Got a call from adcom about $. So pretty happy. Emory has been improving in the rankings quite a bit. Great school, with a better future

I have submitted my application in Round 2 on 8th december (9th december was the last date). Bu when shall I expect the interview invitation(if it has to come)?

Is there a Facebook, linked in, or any community page for admitted students to the class of 2014? I would love to see who else got in and plans to attend. I haven't seen one. Thanks

Haven't received an interview invite yet either. I got an email today, but it was just a "thanks, your application is complete, don't call us we'll call you".

I saw they have a Super Saturday on January 21... thinking about driving down for that. It's open to anyone and is more geared toward being an information session.

When will we know of interview invites?

The application guideline specifically mentions that applicant initiated interviews should be completed by the deadline for the particular application round. Since we applied for the December 9th Round, I am not sure if we are allowed to initiate an interview for us. By the way where are you from in USA?

I had the same impression going into the application process, but read the following on the Goizueta site under "How to Apply". So, sounds like open interviews before the deadline or invited interviews after the deadline. I felt swamped in the essay writing process and so I opted to just wait on the interview. I hope that won't come back to bite me. Oh, and yes, I'm US based. 6.5 hours driving from Atlanta, so I might do that for the interview, hoping it comes.

Interview

An evaluative interview is required of all applicants before an offer of admission can be extended. Interviews are offered on campus and in select cities around the world. Interviews are open to candidates until the application deadline of the round in which you apply. After that round deadline date, your application will be considered for an invitation to interview within that round. All interviews, regardless of type, are evaluated equally in the admissions process. You are encouraged to plan ahead, as interviews fill up quickly around the deadline. Indian/M25
4 years exp. as a Software Engineer at Matriculation
GMAT 770
GPA 6.78/10
OK ECs during college and almost nothing after that.
My interview is at Bangalore on 24th Jan so I have 2 weeks time . Hopefully I can prepare in time! Any tips?

I guess I ll work on the usual questions and then form the reasons for why Emory and how emory will help me with my career. Maybe someone who have completed their interview in the earlier rounds could help us
