Hello Everyone! This is my first time posting, but I have been following this thread for a long time. Congrats to all of those who have been admitted and offered fellowships! I'm jelaous in a good way. :)
I applied to Stern and Yale through the Consortium. Got into Stern, waitlisted at Yale. Waiting for fellowship notifications this week. Keeping my fingers crossed....the wait is killing me! It seems Stern hasn't started to make calls yet. I called the Consortium this morning. They said that they will be sending out some of the notifications starting tomorrow (Tuesday) by e-mail and snail mail. They said that the notifications for some people might take longer depending on the school and on the status of each person (waitlisted folks). So, the waiting continues for some of us... hopefully the news will be worth the wait.

Thanks for the update. Are you sure they would be emailing? They told me they were gonna send it out via snail mail. I guess I have to sit in front of my computer and press F5 all day tomorrow.

I also thought that the Consortium only sent out notifications by snail mail. When the lady on the phone mentioned the e-mail notifications I had to ask her again to clarify because I couldn't believe my ears. Let's hope she wasn't playing a cruel joke on me... it's not April fool's yet.

So, to everyone still waiting on fellowship decisions, this could potentially be useful information. It is 12:26AM EST right now, I just logged on to my initial consortium application:

https://app.applyyourself.com/AYApplica ... sp?id=cgsm

My decision was available, which was a letter stating that I received the fellowship from Anderson. This wasn't a surprise to me since I got the call last week, but for anyone who still hasn't heard about the fellowship, I would imagine that this same information might be available to you right now as well? After all, the draft did take place a week ago. Hopefully this is helpful to someone.

Thanks @DTT123!The fellowship decisions are up. Looks like no fellowship for me (no surprise as the only two schools I had a shot I ranked 5th and 6th). Well, I got membership. I'm curious if anyone who gets accepted doesn't get membership. Any insight anyone? Also, fingers crossed for Darden... (the Darden site hasn't updated yet...).

Thanks for the advice. I logged in and my fellowship/membership decision was available online. Unfortunately, got membership but no fellowship from Stern. However, I did get a 1-year merit based full-tuition scholarship.

Thanks for the heads up. My consortium acceptance was also available online. I don't know why I feared that they had made some mistake when they called with the good news. Lol. I think I needed to see it in writing.

Now to decide about my job. How soon do I leave for school? I've moved several times in my life but never out of state. This is going to be crazy.

Finally got the Consortium decision by logging in to check online (said available as of today).

I received membership into the Consortium! NYU Stern was my only Consortium school choice, and they also named me a Faculty Scholar (Scott Gallaway) and a Forte Fellow. Full tuition and fees covered for both years.

Beyond blessed.

Now to hear from the last two schools I applied for. I love Stern so this may not be super hard at the end of the day, especially with all the great networks I'll be a part of at NYU!

Congrats to all Consortium members and fellows. And to anyone who didn't get it best of luck in your future endeavors.

Here's some helpful info for everyone:

2013 Orientation Schedule -
https://s3.goeshow.com/cgsm/annual/2013/pdf/schedule.pdf

Consortium Hilton Group-rate hotel rooms -
https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mo ... D=14280141

Will you guys use the Consortium "reserved" hotel rooms or venture off to find a room on your own?

Thanks for the update! I just checked my status and saw that I was awarded the fellowship from Stern. Just waiting to hear from Columbia (I was WL'ed) but I'm 99% sure I'm going to Stern debt free. Wow.

I was under the impression that accomodations, meals, and some of airfare were taken care of at OP. Is this incorrect?

If I remember correctly weren't you offered the Faculty Fellowship as well? I only ask because I was also offered a Stern Faculty Fellowship when I got my admissions call, then I logged in to the CGSM site to see that I was offered the Consortium Fellowship. I highly doubt (but sincerely hope) that a person can get both. So I'm confused. I know CGSM fellowship and membership are two different things so I'd love some clarity if possible.

FYI– If you've changed your address since submitting you application, I would take a close look at your admission decision letter. I changed my address via the VIP page a couple months ago but that apparently doesn't update in their application system. I called this morning to have it changed and luckily they haven't mailed any of the enrollment materials yet.

I forgot to add in my post above that during that call, they also said that 'yes' cgsm does provide financial help towards OP and all of that information will be in the packets being mailed out.

Feel like a million bucks right now!

@kawasaki, you deserve it- congrats! Around this time last year, you wrote on the Consortium thread that you had an acceptance without scholarship dollars and were debating matriculating or holding out a year. Speaking from personal experience, I also made that hard choice last cycle and too was rewarded this year with full tuition scholarship dollars as well.

Good going to everybody getting a Consortium Fellowship! And, for those of you who didn't get a full-tuition scholarship anywhere, but know in your heart your worth more than just a mere acceptance letter-- you probably are! Hold on to hope for the future, because people of good character and persistence with the courage to hold out do get rewarded!

@rrossjd - Congrats on your success this year too!.

The decision to hold out b-school last year was one of the toughest decisions of my life. But like you rightfully said, it paid off - 2 full rides and 2 partial scholarships later. I could not have stated your quote any better, and I'll restate it here - Hold on to hope for the future, because people of good character and persistence with the courage to hold out do get rewarded!.

At the end of the day folks, if you did not get the fellowship/scholarship, make the best decision for YOU, be it a do-over or taking loans.

Congrats on getting the fellowship this year. Do you mind sharing what changed between the first time and second time? Was it GMAT? Ranking? I just received the membership and already feel so blessed but am trying to figure out if it makes sense to try to boost my scores and rank differently and try again. Any advice would be very appreciated!

Congratulations on your admit and Consortium membership - please share your profile - it helps put things in perspective for others too.

Regarding what changed, yes I improved my GMAT score and also changed my ranking. I did not change my ranking because I felt it would help me, but I did because I truly connected to Johnson and the students. I strongly discourage trying to game the system, but rather finding the school that you connect with.

In my case, I had that flexibility and it made sense to have a do-over - I could wait that extra year and I also SACRIFICED a lot. If you have the flexibility, do it again, and have a solid game plan and be ready to articulate why you believe that waiting till next year is best for you.

The conclusion - do what you feel is best for you - for some that may be do over and others may be to do it now - it's your choice!
