Great insight Ifa. Thanks much.

I'm planning on going to Booth Thursday night and Friday only as 95% the activities happen on Friday. Saturday seems to be pretty laid back, a few seminars then housing tour.

Went to R1 Admit Weekend, what a whirlwind!

If you can only go one day between Friday and Saturday, go Friday.

If you're hesitant about Thursday, you're not missing out on too much. I went to the Women's reception first then TNDC where students and admitted students were. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was great getting to know more people but I wouldn't sweat it if you absolutely can't make it. The whole weekend overall is pretty intense, tiring and overwhelming (probably indicative of the overall bschool experience) so if you can sleep early on Thursday night, I would HIGHLY recommend. You end up meeting a lot of people 24/7 regardless.

Hotel: Majority of us stayed at Doubletree by Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile and walked to and fro Gleacher Center together. It was also walking distance from the TNDC bar on Thursday night and my group dinner on Friday night (may be different for you though). I thought it was pretty conveniently located, well-priced, clean (recent remodeling), etc. Also convenient to split cabs with Boothies when needed. I also walked back from the housing tour of the Loop on Saturday to my hotel.

If you need the housing google doc, pm me and I'll send it your way!

Did I leave anything out? Yes join the FB group, it's where it's all happenin!

Thanks lfa, this is really helpful. I've looked into a few rooms & i'm deciding which one i should go with. The Inn of Chicago seems to be the cheapest, but i'm worried if there's a good reason why it's much cheaper. Have you or anyone out there had any experience with these rooms?

Mine arrived this morning via USPS.

I received mine yesterday through Fedex. That trinket :-D

I haven't looked into where that's at yet but when I looked for housing, native Chicagoans told me to generally live more North (north of Madison?) and more east (closer to lake). You sound like you might be a guy so you may be less worried but for girls we have to be a little more concerned about where we're walking by ourselves. =]

Just did mine as well. Will most likely go to Booth on Friday and Kellogg on Saturday :?: . Any other GClubbers will be splitting that weekend also?

Hey whan, I am also splitting my weekend, and debating on what to go to on which day. What's your reason for choosing Booth Friday, Kellogg Saturday?

Hey Lammy,

If you looked at Booth's schedule, there is virtually nothing going on on Saturday. A few seminars and half day housing tour, seems like a waste of time to me. Kellogg however will still have a fully packed Saturday: career, club, housing/student life, Q&A, etc. In talking to other folks both here and BTG, it seems that Kellogg's Saturday is more alive than its Friday.

Let me know what you decide..

I chose mine after R1 admit weekend. Go to admit weekend with some trips in mind and talk to the leaders of the group. The group leaders will set the tone for the trip so you want to choose people you think you'd get along with well! And for those of you who are still debating whether to go on a trip at all, I think you'll be fully convinced by the end of admit weekend!

I'm thinking about the cost too. I'd have more clarity in June, but by then I'm sure the trips would be closed. Already have shortlisted a few places though

If it makes you feel any better, I priced out my top trip choice with all the hotel, flight, and activities and the price is actually really fair. That analysis helped me pull the trigger on paying the deposit.
