Congrats!
Random walks are full but they maintain a waitlist. Also, once you get into the booth facebook group, look for a post about someone who didn't get into a random walk but is organizing a trip. I don't know the details but there are quite a few trips being planned aside from the random Walks. Good luck!

Congrats. I also just got the call last week.

There are instructions on how to get your name added to the Random Walk waitlist on the website. I got a response today saying that there are three "phases" to the waitlist. Those already in the 1st and 2nd phases are likely to get spots, but it's not clear at this point for phase 3 (which we're on, assuming you sign up).

Separately, have you had any luck accessing the facebook page? I still haven't been able to get on.

Hello guys. I got an email from Booth about employment verification by Re Vera Services. I have a couple of questions for you guys:)

1. I checked my Booth application and only the contact information from my two recommendations were there. How could Re Vera get the contact information of other companies that i worked for? Or Re Vera only checks with the two recommendations?

2. This is for people who are from non-English speaking countries. The people of a small company I worked for do not speak English. Does anyone know whether Re Vera going to call or email to verify employment history? If they call, how do Re Vera deal with language barriers? They have different people (who speak the language) in charge of each different country? I am worried if they call my company and the HR dont speak much English...So worried now:)

I can't speak to 2, but I think we listed our salary and employment positions and contact details somewhere in the data forms. In any case, if Re vera needs some information, they will contact you directly.

Thank you for your response. I just checked my application again. We did list salary, position and location but no contact information (phone#) for each employment...anyways I guess they will contact us if they need them. Thank you again.

Hi! I realize this is a little unconventional and hope it isn't against forum rules. I've worked in finance for the past 4 years, and am starting grad school at UChicago (not Booth) this fall. I'm seeking a roommate for what I think is a great apartment if you decide to live in Hyde Park.

I picked out this apartment because it's super near campus (5451 S. Ingleside Ave - only a few blocks from the Harper Center) and the current occupants have only good things to say about it. Rent is $640 per month. Please message me directly if you're interested.

Does anyone have a green check next to the 'employment verification' action on their online application? I pull it up every morning hoping it'll be done but keep coming up with the red 'X'. Get to mine already ReVera!

I just got admitted. It's been a long road, but it feels good to be here. I'm still waiting on the flurry of Booth emails so I can start catching up on information via Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Groups. In the mean time, are any Chicago-area admits getting together soon?

Hello folks,
Need some advice on the ppt.
The guidelines mention : "The document will be viewed electronically, but we cannot support embedded videos, music, hyperlinks, or motion images"

Don't quite understand the italicized part. I get the fact that we are not allowed to put in gifs etc. I wanted to know whether it is okay to use animation? Did anyone use it in their ppt?

It has been a few months, but I'm pretty sure the ppt basically gets exported to PDF. It will not be viewed as a Presentation.

Congrats! I got an email asking for my SSN on Saturday - just checked the website and I still have the red 'X'...grrr

I was just admitted a week and a half ago. I don't even have a red "X" yet. You're ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned.

Mine says "Employment Verification Completed" but my Status says "Awaiting" with a red X... I also got an email a week ago that asked for my SSN.

I submitted the form within hours of receiving Carrie's mail. I know that they contacted the HR at my company last week and asked about joining dates, titles and grades. I don't think they checked out my salary or previous company info. And my recommenders have not been contacted till now. Seems quite basic which is great actually
