Re: Profile Evaluation [#permalink]
Hi shashankprasad - thanks for the additional information about your goals.

Hate to break it to you but this is going to be a fairly challenging pitch to make to the adcoms.

We've helped people go from IT/engineering into finance but the pitch needs to be very carefully crafted - and some of the things you've said here are outright confusing. What does it mean when you say you will be "structuring desks in the sales and trading divisions of banks"? Sorry but we're just not following.

If you don't have financial industry experience already then this will be a tough sell to the bschools. They're going to look at your profile in the context of whether you'll be able to land a job in your stated future industry. IB is a competitive recruiting landscape. You haven't actually showed us what you bring to the table. Two years as a C++ programmer doesn't offer any evidence whatsoever that you can work in IB. So you have your work cut out for you.

We'll invite you to visit the EssaySnark blahg at essaysnark.com to find loads and loads of advice and tips on writing essays for the best schools - lots of resources available there, and plenty are completely free. You may want to start with some of the articles on career goals - like this one.

Sorry to be a buzzkill but you've got an ambitious idea and you'll need to work hard to develop a plan that convinces your adcom readers about it.

We wish you luck!!
