Hey guys, I was wondering whether I can take a recommendation from my business partner/cofounder. I guess no one else than him would be able to comment absolutely in-depth about my work . But would the reco be taken seriously by the adcoms ?
Hey EricaR - if you're an entrepreneur then a partner is an ideal choice for one of your recommendations. Another option might be a client. We've also heard some adcom people suggest getting one from a banker but that seems totally bizarre to EssaySnark!
Whoever you choose, just make sure that they explain their relationship to you in the rec - most schools ask this as the first question. He should say how long he's known you and what you've done together in your work, and he might also tell the adcom about what his industry experience is - if he's older/more experienced than you then it can add a little value. If not, no worries, it's not going to detract.
The adcoms understand the difficulties of getting recommenders when you're an entrepreneur and they're flexible.
Hope that helps!
