Oct 9th feels so close now. Good thing I'm still working on other schools so the wait isn't so bad to bear.

First batch of interview invites comes out tomorrow. Any thoughts on whether it will be a 50%-50% split between 10/9 and 10/16? Knowing my luck, I should brace myself for silence tomorrow...

I really hope I could look at my email only once tomorrow so if no luck, I'll get disappointed only once. But odds are I will be checking and getting disappointed hundreds of times...

If you are going to look at your email only once tomorrow, pick 12:05 p.m. ET, because that's when all the invites were sent out last year.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try to do that. Or I think instead of checking gmail I will check this forum and see if anyone reports an invite.

It seems it hasn't been a 50/50 split in the previous years just by the amount of invites.. But they said the difference between wave 1 and 2 is nothing.. just meant they got to your app later. But that week is a straight up killer for waiting.

Do you know what the split was more like? E.g., 75%/25% weighted toward the first notification date? Just trying to figure out the conditional probabilities...

I asked a very seasoned admission consultant and she seemed to think it is more like 90/10

Oh. Wow. Could anyone else confirm whether that's consistent with what they've heard or are expecting?

I heard from a consultant 80/20. Regardless, who cares. Decision is made.

I seriously doubt those splits. Rather than cause alarm (let's face it the wait is stressful enough as it is) just wait and see!

Dee Leopold's January 29, 2013 blog entry suggested that in Round 1 last year, roughly 800 interview invites were sent in wave 1 of R1, and 100 invitations in Wave 2. I would extrapolate only that the quality of one's candidacy doesn't differ between this week and next, but that the probability of receiving an invitation tomorrow is greater than next week.

Anyone else planning on not sleeping much tonight?

Good luck, everyone!

So it sounds like if I don't get invite tomorrow, I should just stop hoping and let myself down easy.
