Maybe this isn't the place for this, but I'm kinda bummed. Not to sound entitled, but I was expecting to hear good news from HBS today. Instead, I have not heard anything yet.
I got a 750, had a 3.7 GPA from a top 25 school and worked at McKinsey for 2 years. Further, I think, based on feedback from recent MBA grads, that I had a compelling career story / essays too! Any chance I am missing the email? Any way that I can understand better why I didn't hear back? Obvs still have a chance on 10/16.
Congrats to those in the gmatclub community that got interviews!

same here (with slightly different stats and work experience). trying to remain positive, but definitely very nervous at this point. i guess there's a reason harvard is ranked the way it is though - i'm sure tons of qualified people get turned down each year

I agree completely. The disappointment is consuming right now. However, all success stories (inside and outside of HBS) begin with disappointment and obstacles. Make this one of those beginnings!
And of course, many congrats to all receiving invites!
Have people received round 1 interview invitations that went out today and what were you all's profile like? How many do we expect to go out on October 16th.
I got an invite today and I have an atypical profile:
26/F/Chinese-Canadian McGill University, Bachelor of Commerce and Masters in Economics GMAT: 770, passed all 3 CFA exams and awaiting charter WE: management consulting, tech start-up, and currently at a large hospital endowment fund
I've lived and traveled all over the world, which may be the differentiating factor.
been a reader on the forum for a while but it's my first time posting...
quick question - does anybody know if the timing of the interview differs for international candidates? A few friends got interviews but all live in the States or Canada. I live in Europe and no one I know seems to have gotten anything.
Any idea? Anyone on here from Europe or Middle East (since I think they review them at the same time) who got any invites?

I don't know about Europe, but I'm in Asia (Singapore) and received an invite.
Just a thought, but I heard from a couple of admissions friends at other schools that most go through a computerized vetting process for first wave interviews and invite individuals with above average metrics: GMAT 730+, GPA 3.7+, and then the second wave of invitations is for those with different distinguishable characteristics like work experience, leadership experience, essay? Was anyone here invited with a GMAT or GPA below the HBS Medians? Considering these are medians, there does need to be people out there with 690-720 GMAT scores, etc. right?

I can GUARANTEE you that is not the process at HBS, and I have a sneaking suspicion that isn't the process at any other top 10 school.
