Anyone else waiting on or hear back about r2 (Nov 15) applications?

Yes. I am eagerly waiting for Stern to get back to me. It's not looking good I guess. I thought I had a stellar application with a Video Essay :(

Hmmm two months without hearing anything usually means bad news.

I'm not overly optimistic at this point, however the ADCOM was closed for two full weeks. I'm sure that they were inundated with emails from both potential and current students. I'd assume they were cleaning up loose ends last week and probably going full force this week. Plus there was Thanksgiving.

As a November applicant it feels like a lifetime, but once you factor in the above, the ADCOM has really had about 4 - 5 working weeks for the Nov. 15th applicants.

I'm waiting also ... it sounds like a lot of us are. Plus, remember they were also closed due to the weather. I'm not panicking yet, but am starting to get a little antsy.

Any interview invites today??

Guys, you have NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!
You might want to roll back and read our R1 posts.
Stern promised to give you an interview invite, WL or deny by Feb 15. that's 32 days from now.
Stern don't wait to give you a ding or WL , in R1, lot's of people were dinged or WL weeks before I got my interview invite.
I got my invite 17 days before the results deadline.

There is no rules to how this works. when they pick up your file, they read it, and make a decision - and they will let you know that decision asap.

Great points! Stern has basically only had 4 - 5 working weeks to review apps since the 11/15th deadline. Plus I'm sure that there were a ton of applicants who submitted on or about that date. Shame on us 11/15'ers for not applying earlier...LOL

hi all, i am wondering if anyone has seen this problem before. I applied two years ago in 2011 for fall 2012, so i should not be considered as a re-applicant. However, when trying to submit my application, the system asks me for essay 3. I am wondering if anyone has seen this before.

Hmmm...I'd suggest contacting the ADCOM to confirm the process. Also, you may need to create a new NYU profile (login name), but that's just a guess.

Best of luck!!!

dormor, look at you cleaning house! Congrats, man!
Thanks @Aerien .
I'm very happy with my decision to reapply this year. after all last years dings/WL.
Hi Dormor, looks like you are reaplicant from last year. Can you share your actions after you got dings/WL last year? How did you improve your profile? Did you do anything else to get attention from schools? I'm still waiting on my response from NYU (interviewed almost 4 weeks ago - this Thursday will be exactly 4 weeks), but just thinking that if I don't get in I might just wait and reapply next year. However, I am not 100% sure about what I can do in order to imrpove my profile. I would really appreciate if you could please share with me some of your actions to improve your profile. Thank you and good luck with your choices!

Just sent my essay #2 (I made a video clip btw) via mail!
I'm little worried that it's too late for an international applicant to apply on the 3rd round deadline.
Fingers crossed!
Good luck to everyone!

Well, first I hope you don't need to be a re-applicant and that you hear good news from Stern.
Well, the main thing I did was get my story straight.
I made sure my post-MBA plans (which always change the minute you walk into business school as we are all told) really align with my past. this time around I made sure to create a clear path from my past, to the business school and into the future.
I also made sure to stop using so much essay space about how much I love the school and the culture and how students love each other. (team fuqua anyone?)
Instead, I wrote in more details on my past linking to the need of business school in general, made sure I had a vision and they know what it is, and about the school - I focused on specific Prof that teach specific courses with specific skills that I need. Also talked about specific special programs like leadership.
I barely mentioned how much I love the school or the area or the culture or the students or much the Prof love to hang out with students.

I also visited schools, (not NYU before interview) and I mentioned this on my essays.

The results were much better this time around.

B.T.W - I had so much dingable holes in my story (age, undergrad dropout, industry switch in my WE) - a good solid story can counter almost anything.
I think my lack of clear path made me a bad interviewee last year.
