Just catching up on here. For all you crazies out there that look at past data in excessive detail, I got an R2 invite via email on Saturday, March 1st at 4:20pm PST. Just saying, there is hope out there even at the bitter end!

I like to think that I dinged them before they dinged me.

Good luck to everyone going for their interview!

Yes I too got mine fairly late and all signs point to that it truly is just one woman matching everyone individually and manually and struggling to make a lot of matches at the end (they have to match you before extending the invite). I also will say one thing I'm not sure was discussed is that R1 accepts had to submit deposits by Feb. 20th, and that is why I believe they extended many invites after that date (they wanted to wait and see their numbers from that). This is something to keep in mind for the future.

I got my invite late as well, and am hoping sonsofanarchy is right about the late invites coming due to matching. I will say that I was really impressed/flattered by the alum match - they matched me with someone in a specific industry I discussed in my essay (an industry that I don't think many Stanford alums are in). Sadly I had changed locations and wasn't able to meet with him, but still really appreciated the thoughtfulness of it.

I had 100% given up hope on the 25th, and that made the invite even sweeter :) Now back to the waiting game. Congrats to everyone else who got invites, and everyone else keep your heads up! Harvard dinged me with no interview so I'm thrilled for the shot at GSB.

I also was invited relatively late (after the 25th when the "majority" were said to have been sent), and I think this is probably true.

I have to disagree. I was invited via email and they told me there was nobody to interview me in my state so I could either a) go to any city or b) do a telephone interview with an admissions officer. So I am pretty confident that means they don't always match you up first.

DB will start calling admitted students in exactly two weeks from today. This is going to feel like a very long two weeks...

Have you guys been able to look back at past info and see how many people are generally WL'ed and then admitted from the WL each year? I know it varies from year to year, but I have no idea if it's less than 10 or generally more than that. Have no clue, so any insights would be great!

Does yours just say "waitlist" or "accepted waitlist offer"? Cheers
