In round 1 on this thread, there was a lot of talk about karma. People did good things, and ended up with an interview invite. I volunteered helping disadvantaged kids last weekend. Then this week, I suddenly got an invite... just sayin'

Let's all keep in mind that some of the candidates will be considered further - wait listed. And some wait listed candidates eventually get interviewed and some of those do get in - so even those who haven't received interview invitations may be considered later on. And while Stanford is a top school, there are other top schools, and there are lots of stories of success of people who never even attended business school ...

Alright. I'm officially losing my marbles waiting. I'm stuck at work working on a bullshit deal that I could care less about because I mentally checked out of my job 3 months ago. Derrick, are you listening man? Not even an interview, seriously? BUT I WROTE THE MOST AMAZING ESSAY WHICH LEFT ME TREMBLING WHEN I COMPLETED IT. I was so proud of my witty answers to your 'just for fun' section. Am I really going to have to pay for the sins of my undergrad (low GPA)? Does the billion dollars in investments I've done mean nothing to you man? Are you still with me Derrick? Every bone in my body is screaming I WAS MADE FOR STANFORD. I wake up every morning in cold sweats and immediately check my phone - praying for an interview invite. I pledge to tithe a % of my annual income to your already massive endowment. Nothing but silence. Really man? Really?

Ok, I'll go back to staring at these useless financials of a company that is most likely run by the Swiss-Italian mafia. Maybe I'll call in sick tomorrow so I don't have to deal with my bosses smug face till Monday.

It will happen.....in R3, if not in R2..... in 2015, if not in 2014.

Those who have lived with this dream would make it happen for sure. Difference is only of time. Quoting here a nice line that I found in BB's one post.

Anyone who wanted to get into the school of their dreams did. Those who gave up did not but every single person who has put it as the main goal of their life/career did. It is possible if you are willing to let everything else go.... but is it worth it, is a diff question.

I actually think they do work on the weekends. Some people have reported receiving invitations on weekends. And also it's possible they will still issue some invitations (even if very few) on Tuesday itself.
