FROM The Booth Experience: A Booth Community Purpose |
The first time I stepped into the Winter Garden brought me back to a peculiar memory I had long forgotten; a decade ago when I was nineteen years old, I had my first big travel experience when I flew into Europe and landed in a Zurich, Switzerland airport to begin my trip. Just like that … Continue reading A Booth Community Purpose → |
FROM Booth Admissions Blog: Getting Ready for Round Two Interviews |
Hello from the Windy City! We have not quite been living up to our name this winter – as this weekend we enjoyed temperatures in the mid-40s! The lakefront was busy with Chicagoans and tourists taking advantage of the warm weather by running, biking and walking along the Lake – one of my favorite places to run in the city. We have been busy in the office reading applications and have enjoyed learning more about everyone’s story. We have begun to release invitations to interview this week on a rolling basis with all decisions being released by February, 4. If you are invited to interview you will receive an email with thorough instructions, but I wanted to go over a few of your interview options so that you may begin to plan ahead. We want to give you the flexibility to pick the interview option that works best for you. On-Campus Interviews (Hyde Park & Downtown Chicago) Weekday interviews will take place from Tuesday, February 10 – Friday, March 6 at the Harper Center in Hyde Park. We will also offer interviews on Saturday, February 21 at Booth 455, located just across the street from our downtown campus, the Gleacher Center. Interviews in Chicago will be conducted by our second-year student Admissions Fellows. If you live in, or plan to travel to Chicago for your interview, we encourage you to take part in a campus visit as part of your interview experience. You can sit-in on a class, talk with an admissions director, and have lunch with current students. Hub City Options We know that not everyone can make the trip to Chicago – so we are bringing Chicago Booth to many domestic and international cities! • New York City on Saturday, February 21st • Washington, D.C. on Saturday, February 28th • San Francisco on Saturday, March 7th • London on Saturday, March 7th • Hong Kong on Saturday, March 7th Interviews at our hub locations will be conducted by staff, alumni and Admission Fellows. Further details about the locations and scheduling will be sent via email when you receive your invitation to interview. Interviewing in one of our hub locations is a great way to meet members of the Booth community. All of the cities above will have an informal networking opportunity with local alumni that will allow you to gain insight into life at Booth. Off-Campus Interviews If you are unable to travel to Chicago or one of our Hub locations, you also have the flexibility to interview with a Booth alumna/alumnus in your city. The admissions office will match you with an alum in your nearest major city. You will both then decide on a mutually convenient date and location (generally a coffee shop or an office) to meet. All off-campus interviews need to be completed by March 1st. Our staff, students and alumni are looking forward to learning more about you and your story in the interview. Best of luck to everyone selected to interview. Remember the interviews are just a conversation! For those of you visiting Washington, D.C. my colleague, Kristen Bautz, and I will look forward to meeting you! Best, Kelly |
