I am looking into the MIT MFin program and wanted to get an opinion on my chances of being accepted. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Profile:
My major is Russian.
GPA: 3.58/4.0
GMAT:740
Extracurriculars: some model United Nations activities
Internships (in chronological order): AXA(securities, I mainly did stock research), securities(something about IPO), corporate banking
Additional course background: basic math requirements (Calculus & Linear Algebra), Python(Coursera), R programming(Coursera), Accounting(without verification), Probability(without verification)
My major has nothing to do with finance. However, maybe I can use my major to impress the admission officer. But I don't know how.
Your profile looks pretty good for the MFin program. I have a few questions though:
1) Where did you go to undergrad? What school?
2) How old are you?
3) Work experience (beyond internships)?
If you are looking for specific help with your applications, send me a note.
scott@personalmbacoach.com Based on answers to the questions above, you would fit in well with other applicants for the MFin. I can tell you how you stack up against other MIT MFin applicants also.
Best,
Scott
