Hi Merry,
People always talk about INSEAD being really strong in consulting, and practically everyone gets first round interviews at MBB if they want...is this true at all? Are consulting firms mainly hiring in Asia (Singapore campus) or do they place students all over the world?
Hi, sorry I haven't responded to this question earlier. You probably figured an answer yourself by now, but I thought I'd answer anyway, for the benefit of other users.
I don't know the exact numbers but getting to the first round of interviews is not hard. It's not guaranteed though. But the reality is that Talent acquisition managers actually reach out to you very early on and arrange phone calls and coffee chats well before the application process even begins. So it indeed feels that MBB is hunting students rather than students knocking on their doors.
With regards to the geography, it's all over the world with the exception of the US. I haven't heard about anyone being hired to MBB in the US, at least from my batch. Local language requirements would still be applicable for non-,English speaking countries, so competition for London, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney etc. is much higher than Eastern Europe or Africa for example.
