So, as you can see from my profile on the left, I have had a disastrous application season.
Now, I am wondering if it would be better to
a) Stay at my current workplace for another year which would entail a promotion and apply in 2017 for matriculation in 2018?
b) Switch to a feeder firm and apply right away (with about 2-3 months at the new firm).
c) Switch to a feeder firm and apply in 2017?
To give some context,
I am a brown guy working in the tech sector (Yes, one of the worst pools to be in
). I work at a fairly large company (think PayPal, eBay, Linkedin), have been at the job for about 3 years now, expecting a promotion this year.
I am 26 this year, so was wondering if putting off my application by another year would make me too old (28) for the M-7.
On the other hand, if I do get to work for a feeder firm like Apple, Google, Microsoft, I might have a better chance at the M-7.
On a similar note, what are the feeder firms in tech industry?
From what I see on the internet, it is Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Fb (in that order). Is that accurate?
I appreciate any advice on the above.
Thank you,
MV
