Hi
GMATNinja ,
Can you please explain option B and E in detail...i was stuck between B and E ..
Thanks
Okay, let me help you guys.
Try to understand the meaning of the sentence.
We believe
1) that the mission of art is a mission of sentiment and love, and
2) that the artist has a larger and more :
a) poetic task
than
b) another task.
The author is trying to compare 2 tasks. Do you agree?
Now, option A says more task A than suggesting. Shouldn't it be Task A than Task B? what is suggesting? Is it a task or is it something author is suggesting? We are not clear on this. Hence, A is incorrect. D can be ruled out on same terms.
Option C is very weird. It says more Task A than of suggesting. What is 'of suggesting'? Task of suggesting or something else? Incorrect.
Now, comes our favorite B and E
As I mentioned in my previous post, the author is comparing two tasks. Task A and Task B. So, we should have more Task A than Task B.
You see the noun after more and after than?
Option E is actually saying more Task A than Task to suggest... As per the original meaning, are we supposed to compare the purpose of 2nd task? No, right?
Hence, option E is out. Only correct option is B.
We are very well comparing two tasks in B.
Feel free to ask 'n' number of questions.
P.S: My experience so far says this question is not that tough as it has been made. 95%?? Oh come on!!
