If you are over-represented or not, a better GMAT would be meaningful in optimizing your odds. Round 1 is not that favorable (in some case, it doesn't matter).
That said, if you'd like to toss one or two in Round 1, it would be good to learn the ropes at the worst, and give you something to fall back on if you do get in.
