Hi,

The median GMAT is in 700-710 range for PGPX. The link below will give you an idea of the kind of profile of the last batch:-
https://www.iima.ac.in/web/pgpx/student ... ch-profile

That said, the one-year program at IIMA admits candidates with a wide array of experience, where GMAT is usually the qualifying criteria. Securing an admit will depend on the overall profile presented to the admissions committee.

Do get in touch with us if you need any advise regarding admissions.

Cheers!

Hey Bhavz10,

You have an excellent profile. You are also in a sweet spot regarding age and gender for admit to premier B-schools in India and abroad.
If you are considering the 1-year MBA programs in India from IIMA / IIMB / ISB and others, a GMAT of 700 is quite decent. The links below would give you an idea of the profile of previous batches at these institutions.

IIMA PGPX batch profile:-
https://www.iima.ac.in/web/pgpx/student ... ch-profile

IIMB EPGP batch profile:-
https://www.iimb.ac.in/node/217/

ISB PGP batch profile:-

I would suggest you apply to Indian MBA institutions with your score of 700. The GMAT merely serves as a qualifying criteria, and a 20 points increase won't change your chances dramatically. If you present a strong profile to the admissions committee, you have a pretty good chance of making it.

Also, as your experience is on the lower end and you have prior experience in consulting, you have a good shot at strategy consulting post MBA.

Do get in touch with us if you need further guidance on the admissions process.

Cheers!

Best article award during first year of articleship in top 5 accounting firms in india

2 years work experience in EY in corporate and international taxation where I was extensively involved in restructuring taxation models for Indian counterparts of telecom companies abroad and did lot of tax compliance and litigation related work.

1 year 8 months as taxation manager in another company- compliance, litigation and tax advisory role.
Left it to pursue a job in government sector.

Now working as an administrative officer accounts specialist in one of the 4 general insurance PSUs in India since a year.I am handling the coinsurance business of more than $50 million for my regional office.

On extra curricular front, I have been one of the few Indian delegates at the Harvard Project for Asian and International relations (HPAIR) held in Hongkong in 2016 in the Humanitarian tracks.
I have learnt lot of different dance styles and had my own belly dance classes for a while.

I want to apply for the one year MBA programs next year as my experience would be almost 5 years and I would like to move out of government sector to core strategy roles. I am mainly interested in strategy consulting as a career.

Would love some insights on my profile and my chances at IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IIML, SPJIMR, ISB and some European schools like LBS, Oxford , INSEAD etc.

Planning to take GMAT early next year with expected score 700+ and will only apply if I get 720+. I had scored 700 in 2016 GMAT
