Kelley MBA 1-1 consultation :Notes from my conversation

Kelley offers 1:1 30 minute chat with one of the adcom members. This is an opportunity to ask them anything you would like to. Here are my notes from my 30-minute conversation :

1. First things first. Kelly converts GRE score into GMAT and for them, GRE doesn't mean anything. Perhaps one of the few US schools that convert GRE into GMAT.
2.As an Indian Male, an average of 720+ is expected by adcom (this was told unofficially when I asked them if my GRE of 325~700GMAT good enough?)
3.I did ask Kelley on the deferrals and alternative plan should there be a need owing to second wave. Kelley hasn't sought after any major plans but remains committed to students and would do anything to help. They are also hopeful on the emergency visas for students.
4.I did ask them bluntly how does adcom reacts when they see goals which are not mainstream (nothing like IB,Tech,Consulting)? On this they told and explained that school would love you to be authentic rather than checking boxes for the sake of admission. Having read 1000s of essays they know if you are passionate or just making stuff out of air.
5. One of the other indications was on the GRE/GMAT waiver which is likely to be continued in the next cycle. But school did mention that sometimes it can be tricky and the waiver can backfire. The safe advice still remains the same. Give test, score high and apply when ready
6. School advises that it is always better to apply R2 but with a higher score than a lower score in round 1. This came up when I told them that I want to write essays first and give test later.
7. GRE v GMAT for consulting recruiting - I was told to email my question to Graduate Career services. But was told that GRE/GMAT wouldn't be a big deal for recruiting for consulting.
