------------------------------------ Panelist details ------------------------------------

Stephen Sweeney - I lead the recruiting and admissions team for the Full-Time MBA program at Texas McCombs. I am also an alum of the program – class of 2011. Prior to enrolling at McCombs, I worked in the hedge fund industry and taught fourth grade in Miami Florida, through Teach For America. After I graduated from McCombs with my MBA, I worked in management consulting and was based in New York City. I love Austin. Outside of work, I spend my time with my wife, son, and Goldendoodle.

Jaden Felix - I demystify Texas McCombs MBA admissions for prospective applicants, contribute to diversity and inclusion initiatives, and enjoy connecting with people. Prior to Admissions, I created opportunities for teams and individuals to enhance their leadership skills, designed conversations to engage diversity, equity, and inclusion, and supported student success at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Michigan. I am from Fresno, California, and look forward to connecting.

This topic is very quiet. How are your applications going? About 45 days to go for the Round 1 deadline.

yes. I'll be applying to McCombs in the first round. Do anyone has the information what's happening this year in McCombs application. How much competitive this application cycle would be as compared to last year. I still have to attend sessions and get along with the application. right now I'm stuck with other applications.

Hey folks,

I haven't started my applications yet and I'm focusing on Round 2, I'm waiting to take the GMAT in November. I did attend a virtual info session last week and found it pretty informative about what McCombs offers.

I will be applying Round 1. I have a question about essay formatting. Right now I have a double-spaced PDF in times new roman (12 PT) with no header. Should I include a header? If so, what information should I include? Also, are there any must-haves in the name of the file (i.e. my last name)?

Thanks, and good luck everyone!

Hi Guys,
I am also applying in R1. I echo with saury2k and would like to know details about this year. Also, I want to know about the essay:
We will learn a lot about your professional background through your resume and letter of recommendation. We want to get to know you further. Please introduce yourself using an essay of 250 words, OR a video introduction of one minute.

are you guys going for the written essay or video introduction and is there a hidden preference from the school's side?

Don't quote me on this because I'm not a member of the admission committee, but I don't think the school has a preference, so I would pick the one with which you think you can make the best impression. I went for the written essay because I think my writing skills are better than my video-editing skills.

I would be cautious about simply sitting in front of a camera and giving a "boring" introduction; however, if you are talented at video-editing, then you might consider that approach instead. For example, do you like riding motorcycles and skydiving? Do you volunteer at a local food bank? Edit some of that footage into your video to give them a sense of who you are.

Good luck!

Hi Guys

I am an Indian applicant and have a letter from college stating that the medium of instruction was English. The McCombs website says that TOEFL can be waived in such situation. Can anybody give a confirmation on this from this forum? Thanks

Are you a current student at McCombs or did you defer it?

Would uploading an official GRE score report be sufficient

or do we have to send a report from the official website?
