Here is my background, I go to Michigan State University. I am 22 years old.
BA Accounting and Economics (double major)
Cum. GPA: 3.55 / 4.00
Acc. GPA: 3.18 / 4.00
Econ. GPA: 3.7 / 4.0
Graduated with honors.
Extracurrics:
Student Investment Assoc. (helped manage 5k)
Helped manage the MBA portfolio (1m chunk for our class)
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Student Senate
Tutored finance and economics
Beta Alpha Psi
I am currently pursuing:
MS Accounting (Auditing specialization)
Cum. GPA: 4.00 / 4.00 (so far)
+CPA (plan on becoming)
I took the GMAT just for the graduate school application so I didn’t study much for it and got a 650 (so I’m hoping I can get a 700+ later on, I got 90th percentile verbal and like 60th percentile quant so there is major room for improvement there, I hadn’t studied combinatorics at all and got wasted).
After a couple of years working in public accounting I’d like to pursue an MBA in Finance.
So my questions are:
1) How does this look as of now?
2) What can I do to improve this?
*) Do they look at my MS grades at all?
Thank you very much for your time and effort.
