Hi,
I am a 28 year male looking to apply for schools at around November. My stats are:
gmat - 760
gpa - 2.9/4.0 with a degree in electrical engineering from UC Berkeley. (I've taken some extension courses and some technical graduate level courses at Stanford after my graduation from Berkeley, and I received A's on all those courses)
My work experience - 5 years as a software engineer/tech lead. The 5 years have been outstanding in terms of performance, but outstanding in a technical aspect (in other words, I can get great recommendations from some very qualified people).
Extracurricular - about 1 year as a toastmaster. I have had leadership positions in this organization. The most responsibility that I have taken is having to manage 5 toastmasters clubs.
I wanted to know if I had a shot at a top 10 school (Berkeley, Columbia) or even a top 20 school (NYU, UCLA, Carnegie Mellon).
If I don't have a shot at those schools, is there anything that I could do? More extracurriculars? More upward movement at the job? Perhaps even a job change (e.g. going into product management)?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
