As I said before, I am 50% Wharton, 50% reapply.

would you really pass up wharton just to reapply to the GSB? you are young so the extra year wouldn't kill you, but what could you really hope to improve upon in your profile? you have top stats, top work ex and apparently top essays. did your interview go well? ECs?

hang tight a little longer -- seems like calls are going up and down the east coast now -- NYC, Philly, DC in the last ~30 minutes.

where are the west coast calls?!

I'm in the same boat. Deciding between Wharton or something else in life. Stanford would be ideal for my personal situation since my wife and I are already in SF

I'm here!

In R1, most calls went out on Wednesday... but remember, calls went out much earlier in general. If you shifted the action you're currently seeing on B-Week back by 24 hours, you'd have a good idea of what went on in R1 (people hearing voicemails Wed AM, calls intermittently throughout the day Wed). I just saw several calls reported on B-Week, so it sounds like there are still people to be notified!

Won't have internet access this afternoon... good luck everyone, hope to see plenty of good news when I log back on!

Me too. They have to be finished with 95% of the calls. Painful.

i am also accepting the ding at this point but i am baffled by the apparent lack of west coast calls? perhaps these people are just getting to work and have not yet checked their voicemails, or maybe they just don't post on BW. i have been obsessively hitting f5 on bw and have seen only a handful of west coast calls. others are feeling the same way, it seems.

I am 27 but with only 2 years of w/e at McK/B/B...fumbled around in grad school for 3 years before entering MC.
Not surprised at all W. took me (older applicants-friendly) while S and H rejected me (most of their people over 25 come from non-biz backgrounds).

Gentlemen, it was a good fight.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you study in grad school?

I am 25, two years of finance experience, two years of "other" (mostly traveling + non-profit). I am thinking about reapplying next year, but I am not sure that I will be able to improve upon anything. One more year of workex seems like it will be a negative, not a positive.

where else did you get in sudden?

Also, I'd 25 is almost the limit these days for Stanford/Harvard...Go to Wharton if you get in. That's what my ex-career counselor told me

I have not gotten in anywhere.

Harvard: ding w/o interview
Wharton: ding after interview
Chicago: waitlist
Stanford: ding soon
Columbia: TBD

Not sure what, if anything, is wrong with my profile. I guess it is good but not good enough.

Did you finish your PhD? That's quite a jump to business!

Nope, dropped out of the PhD. You'd think that profile would make me interesting, haha, but I guess they just thought I was a quitter (except for Wharton, praise them). It's been a hell of a year, and the next two years are only gonna get worse applications-wise (I'd expect back to one-digit admits at H and S, and 12-13% at W and Col)...

Where are you now and where are you trying to go after MBA?

Yes, next year is going to be a blood bath.

I want an MBA so that I can combine my nonprofit experience and finance experience into an asset management role at an endowment. Basically, I want to invest capital and then invest the returns into social programs. I thought this was a pretty unique angle, especially because I am already managing a small endowment outside of my sell side finance job.

Wow, you're really scaring me here. Were they at single digits in 2001-2002? I wonder what we could expect as far as rates at Chicago or Kellogg.
