Agreed... they seem very full. I'm going to visit towards the end of September and I got my space a few weeks ago. Count me in for R1.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm applying EA, not R1.

I'll be in Hanover at the end of September. Those prospective students that have already showed up must be ahead of the curve. I don't know if the 2 weeks until then is enough time to be more than adequately prepped for the interview, and I've been reading the sites and doin research on Tuck + 3 other schools for the past several months! I'm not lookin forward to the 3 hr coach from Boston, and it's a little discouraging since I haven't yet been in contact with a current student after signing up for Tuck Connections over two-and-a-half weeks ago.

add me in, guys.
I'm doing EA, new applicant. Interview on the 7th.
I tried Tuck connections too but they put me up with a Tuck '06. Would have preferred someone in Tuck now.
good luck, all !!

Just from last yr's GMATClub stats alone, I noticed a higher percentage of dings in EA. ..10/18, as opposed to 5/15 in Round 1.
That's scary...Is that a general trend though? That EA has worse chances?
Also, what's a good place to stay in Hanover without putting a hole in the pocket?
thanks

I think your chances are actually better in EA than round 1, but not by much. There are a far fewer applicants in EA, so your pool of competitors is smaller. Don't go by what happens on GMATClub, it's too small a sample size.

As for good places to stay in Hanover on the cheap, you are pretty limited. The Hanover Inn is not cheap ($200+/night).

You'd probably be better off staying in White River Junction, VT or Lebanon, NH and either getting a cab or renting a car. I think the Holiday Inn in White River Junction is quite nice and a lot cheaper, even if you throw in the cab ride.

Count me IN, November round!!!
Tuck is one of my first choices and is the number 1 choice of my wife (she's not applying for an MBA!).
I am a bit surprised to see that so few GMATclubbers are interested in Tuck, judging by the activity on this thread... Is it because of its remote location? I can tell you that after 7 years of urban life in Asia's most polluted cities, being in the middle of nowhere is a kind of dream!
I am already connected to an alumn through Tuck connection and he has been very helpful in answering all my questions. If someone at his level (very high position in a large global company) still takes time to answer the stupid questions of an applicant I can understand that the link between the alumni and their school is at least as strong as the legend pretends.

Good luck to all of you!

I really like Tuck as well.

Question for others applying: Are you able to fit in your hobbies and interests anywhere into the essays? I was hoping to squeeze them into Essay 4... but it seems like they are looking more for broad, personal background stuff and not necessarily hobbies and what social/sport clubs you'll be involved with at Tuck?

I put it in Essay 4. It seems very similar to Kellogg's "How will your experiences, values contribute to Kellogg?" so I just copy/pasted and modified it to Tuck.

So I'm writing my "Constructive Criticism" Essay and I don't have anything to say there...
I'm not a superstar, but at the same time, I have always gotten "Excellent" in my performance rating, and I have only some lame criticism - typical Engineering performance review stuff...
What the hell do I do now?

Re: Calling All Fall 2010 Dartmouth (Tuck) Applicants [#permalink]
I am iin a confused state of mind and would like to see if someone can help me here.
I'm applying to Tuck EA because I'm thinking the sooner the better, and I like Tuck
However, I'm also doing Kellogg R1, MIT R1 and LBS R2, and MIT R1 and LBS R2 decisions wont even be in by the time Tuck's deposit deadline looms.
So should I even apply to Tuck in EA? I belong to the Indian IT Male group and I've heard from many alum and students that everything else considered the same, EA is better than R1.
So is anyone else in this situation? Should I be prepared to suck it up and lose the $3500(In case the Adcom Gods smile on me, at all these schools?)
Any insight/advice/criticism will help...
thanks
