RF,

Any word on the application volume at Tuck this year for EA or R1?

From what I've heard the EA round volume was the same as last year, in other words nothing remarkable.

Hi All,

I got a Tuck interview invite (committee-initiated) today. I am an international applicant. Any tips to ace the interview.

Thanks.

I actually asked this question in the online chat the other day and was told that Tuck doesn't release stats from round to round.

I hope you too get an invite kinokosarada. From another forum, I have learnt that invites were sent throughout the first week of December last year.

I wish you all the best. Tuck happens to be my dream school. I really love its culture - the extremely high level of collaboration; not just the tip of the iceberg.

A question for Refurb:

I applied Early Action and am anxiously awaiting a decision from Tuck. Admittedly, I've been derelict in making connections with professors and in following up with the students I met while visiting campus (other than the obvious thank-you notes). Do you think that, with slightly over two weeks until the decision date, it is too late in the cycle to email a couple of professors whose courses I'm interested in taking and/or follow up with the students I met? Obviously, it shouldn't hurt my candidacy, but is there any chance it could help?

Thanks!

Let me share a little more about the Tuck culture....

I was speaking with someone from the program office and she mentioned how she has had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling as she attends most of the international info sessions.

She was in San Paulo, Brazil a while back along with teams from Harvard and Wharton. You know how many Tuck alumni showed up to the info sessions? 12! The 10 living in San Paulo and 2 Tuck alums who were on vacation and just happen to be in San Paulo at the time.

The number of alum from Harvard and Wharton who showed up? Zero on both counts. And those schools are 4 and 3 times the size of Tuck, respectively. I think that says a lot about the strength of the alumni network.

Don't worry about it. Unless you make an INCREDIBLY positive impression on a student or a professor, it has no impact on your admissions decision. However, I should add that it doesn't take much of a negative impression to hurt you.

If you're genuinely interested in talking to students or professors go for it. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

There is still hope. This year they sent the first invites around the 20th of November and last year I know that the last invites were sent at the same time as the EA decision.
Tuck also being my first choice, this waiting is really killing me! :arh

Did any of the EA/Round 1 applicants or their recommenders receive any sort of communication from the Adcom seeking clarification or more information regarding the application?

Completed my interview with an alumnus today.

I did notice that the alum was interested in my thought process. He wanted to know what drives me. So the questions weren't general rather based on my responses/personal experiences.

The interviewer was extremely nice and friendly.

I plan to apply for the January Deadline. I am visiting Tuck next week for an applicant initiated Interview. Has anybody out here done these? What can be expected out of these sessions?

I guess we can expect decisions this week? Does Tuck do all of them at once or do they go the Kellogg way where decisions are given to some and the others are hangin on for dear life :)?
thx
