Submitted EA yesterday about an hour before the deadline. Good luck everyone!

Now the waiting game begins: 64 more days...

I doubt it's too big of a deal. It wouldn't hurt to call them though. I'm sure stuff like that happens a lot.

Interview report from last week:

First visit to Tuck, very impressed by the scenic location.
Interviewer was 2nd year, was into consulting. Questions:

1. Walk me through resume.
2. I mentioned an interesting fact in my resume...so she dwelled on that asked me if I considered that the most significant accomplishment in my life. I said yes.
3. What inspired me to achieve #2?
4. Experience working in a team of diverse individuals.
5. Why MBA
6. Why Tuck?
7. what I'll contribute to Tuck? I didnt really mention a list of clubs..I said I'll draw from my past experiences and contribute in areas I'm strong at; community impact, study groups, also want to be a member of Adcom.
8. I mentioned being able to deal with conflict so she asked me an instance where I did that.
9. Any questions for her?

The interview lasted 35 minutes, pretty short. I felt good about it, was very conversational in nature. I saw a lot of people that day though...about 25 people interviewed while I was there, and I left at 1-30pm so maybe 35-40 by end of day?

I'll press the submit button tomorrow and then it's left to the Adcom Gods.

Hi all!

I just returned home from interviewing yesterday. The campus was great, and the staff and students were all very welcoming. Interview questions were pretty much along the lines of the above previously listed questions except mine lasted about 45-50 minutes. Nothing weird or out of the ordinary (thankfully!). My visit was great and definitely confirmed Tuck as my #1 choice! I suggest you all visit if possible. I don't think the setting is right for everyone, however, if you love the outdoors and/or New England you'll most likely love it.

Have a great weekend!

for those of you concerned that i'd be dinged automatically, you'll be happy to know that "david" was the name that was on my interview schedule. his email address is "charles.d.____@...." but i guess he goes by david. so i should be fine with giving the name on my interview schedule. there was a reason for my madness!

also, my application went complete on 10/16/09 at 2pm. not sure if that means anything or not.

More on Tuck culture....

We finished our first semester last week (yes, Fall A is only 4 weeks long) by handing in our last final exam at noon on Tuesday. After dropping the exam off, we were told to go to Stell Hall (if you've been to Tuck, it's the beautiful room just down the stairs from where visiting students check in).

The reason to go to Stell Hall was that almost all the 2nd year students had gotten dressed up, got a bunch of champagne and let loose a thunderous cheer as each first year student opened the door. It was a really cool way to end our first semester and just another example of why I came to Tuck.

Hey all,

I would imagine everyone who submitted EA will be going "complete" pretty soon, if they haven't already. I noticed something interesting, my GMAT scores had an "Official" in parenthesis, however, I only self-reported my scores in the app. If I didn't notice that my transcripts had a "Not Official" in parenthesis, I wouldn't think anything of it. Just out of curiosity, for those who also just self-reported their GMAT scores, do you show an "Official" as well on your complete status?

Hope everyone's submitted the scholarship app with time to spare...

I believe there's been a pretty significant spike of interest in healthcare careers among D undergrads (and maybe Tuckies as well?) after JYK took over. It seems like there should be a lot more collaboration between Dartmouth Med and Tuck in the future.

But yeah... definitely an interesting field.

Will be submitting it tomorrow. If you self-reported it, how does it say Official?
I mailed Tuck and they asked me to send the scores in, so I sent them. Woulda saved $28, if I knew this was the case.

My thoughts exactly. Made me think that maybe they matched up someone else's GMAT scores that were sent in with my application. That doesn't seem likely tho as I've got an asian last name, but you never kno, maybe they get tons of applicants from there.

I am an applicant from India. I am working in the Healthcare industry from the past 7 years. I have an Biomedical undergrad and grad degree.

I have spoken to current students and alumni at Tuck and found out that Tuck has very good Healthcare courses. I spoke to the career center and got positive response on finding jobs in the healthcare industry after the MBA.

My only apprehension is that Tuck places a lot of importance on undergrad scores. Even during the chat last week, it was mentioned by a current student. I have low undergrad score, but was in the top 5 in my grad degree. Given the fact that Tuck admits only around 240 students each term, do you think I should still try applying for R1?

I had a low undergraduate GPA and a high graduate GPA and got in!

You'll never know if you don't try!
