True, true, true! But I went with the impression that 100% go to non-profit. LOL. That has totally changed now. It's a finance school.

I think the student body is diverse enough to be whatever type of school you want it to be. There are plenty of non-profit types, finance types, and general management/strategy types like myself. As skahuh pointed out, I would wager that per capita there are more non-profit students here than at any other business school in the country. Sorry your worldview got warped, but I think this is as nonprofit as business schools get.

Oh SOM has general management / strategy as well. What are the different kinds of strategy that Yale SOM teach? Do the students join in strategy branch of Gates Foundation or do they join strategy firms?

I don't know when the deadline is but generally business schools have 11:59 pm as the deadline. If nink or adude know then can confirm about it.

Every year, Yale hosts the Yale Cup, one of the largest MBA sporting events in the nation. It's a 2 day soccer tournament that attracts teams from across the US, and even the world. This year, teams including HBS, Wharton, Columbia, Stern, and IESE (Spain) will be participating. There's even a team from Harvard Law School; it should be a great sports and networking weekend: https://sites.som.yale.edu/som-united-so ... -cup-2010/

Giving a finishing touch on essays and the EC... Damn surprised that YSOM puts so much emphasis on keeping words limit. Also suprised how compact and succinct the whole app is.

Hope my LOR goes on time :P

Is there anyone working on their applications while working 76 hours/week? Either I'll be fired from my job or rejected brutally by Yale SOM! Thursday is still two good days away.

Tell me about it. Both of my recs are not in. I went to talk to one of my recommenders today and she is just swamped with work. I remember admissions telling me that 2-3 days delay should be okay.

Ya I've heard the same thing from admissions. (But I'd prefer if they got them in on time!)

I sent a friendly reminder to the rec who hadn't started, and two hours later I got notification from Yale that the rec was submitted. 10 minutes after that I got notification from NYU that the same person's rec had been submitted. Man I hope he had already been working on them offline...

my brother in law (harvard grad) is excited about Yale Bowl because harvard is playing yale at yale this year...

Common issue. Just manage it well with your recommender. Don't pressure them too much. I know it is nerve wrecking but as long as they are "good people", they will get it in (one way or the other).
