Started a 5-person product development firm based out of Kathmandu, Nepal in 2002 but had to close down in 2004. Looking back I think the company failed because my partner and I did not have the same vision and also because we were unable to secure additional capital to sustain operations.

Personal Facts
I am a Nepalese citizen, though I was born in India. I was raised in Nepal and finished my basic schooling there before moving to India for undergraduate studies.
I have been living in the United States since 1997 and I am currently a permanent resident.
I am 34 years old
I was in the Merchant Marines for 2 years.
Post MBA Goals
Although the company I started in 2002 failed, I have learned a lot from that experience. At heart I am an entrepreneur and I want to give another shot at running my own business. Post MBA, I want to start my own financial product development firm that will cater to the needs of retail and Investment banks. Long term, I want to get involved with - and possibly start my own - venture capital firm to assist entrepreneurs in Nepal.
Thank you,
GM
GM,
I apologize for the long delay in replying. I thought I had answered all October 3 posts, but just now noticed yours. You have an outstanding profile, and your Nepalese background is a great asset for you. You have a major negative, however, and that is your age. Have you considered an executive MBA? You seem to have the managerial experience to be considered for it, and it would be easier for you to get into, so you could aim higher. That said, full-time programs do admit 34-year-olds, and you seem to have the kind of strong profile they would "forgive" you age for. Given your finance/entrepreneurial goals, among full-time MBAs I would recommend MIT Sloan, Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, Michigan.
Hope this helps.
