He is Indian...which seems to be the most competitive group applying to MBA programs. It is a tougher demographic than a white male.

Getting into a top program with no work experience is a near impossiblity. The kids that do it most likely have amazing resumes and may have started a successful business during college. Most programs seem to like a minimum of 2-3 years and some the average experience is 6 years experience. Your best bet is to work for a few years, its an advantage knowing you want to go to an MBA program so now you can build up an application profile that is impressive. I had known 5 years ago when I graduated college I would be looking to go to grad school I would have do more volunteer work and been more involved trying to fill in any possible holes in my profile.

Yeah I guess you are right about number of students from India applying. I'm from the Ukraine and know for fact that there are less than 10 students from my country in top 20 b-schools combined. I will have some advantage.
