I'll go with E. Others are irrelevant. Only this states that very few accidents occur through breaking systems

Re: New cars are being equipped with collision avoidance systems consistin [#permalink]
New cars are being equipped with collision avoidance systems consisting of radar devices that provide drivers constant information about the proximity of other cars and objects. When the car gets too close to another car or a stationary object, the system applies the brakes and locks the seat belts. Widespread implementation of these systems will significantly reduce the number of car accidents.

The argument above relies on which of the following assumptions?

A. The collision avoidance system will only prevent accidents involving cars that are both equipped with the system.
B. Most accidents the collision system prevents would involve careless drivers.
C. Even very attentive drivers cause some accidents.
D. The collision avoidance system will not otherwise affect the performance of the car.
E. There are not a significant numbers of accidents that must be avoided by not engaging the car’s brakes.

Answer is E
Assumption is There is no other way we can reduce the number of accidents such as by applying car brakes ,some other protocols etc.
The only way to reduce the number of accidents is by installing this system.

Tricky wording in option E. The use of double negative words trapped me.

Official Explanation

Premise: When the car gets too close to another car or a stationary object, the system applies the brakes and locks the seat belts.

Conclusion: Widespread implementation of these systems will significantly reduce the number of car accidents.

In order for this argument to work, one must assume that a system that applies the brakes of the car reduces accidents. This is what choice E states, that there are not a lot of accidents that must be avoided in ways other than applying the brakes. No other choice connects the premise to the conclusion.
