I've applied and been rejected to Ph.D programs for this fall.
My information is as follows:
610 on the GMAT (will edit the post later with the details) 5.5 on ASA
3.56 overall GPA in undergrad. Dual BA - Econ and accounting
18 months of IT work
3+ years at the large multinational manufacturing company in a variety of roles.
Male, native born US. Speak Arabic and English (I get to mark "Caucasian" on apps).
Was very active with the extra circular work at school (case research competitions) and other leadership opportunities with student orgs. Active with the accounting department after graduating, going back to talk to classes, and an active member of the recruiting team for my university (with current employer).
Was my low GMAT score a major contributor to the rejections? I scored within the range (according to US News) for a few of the schools, and the rest were all above that.
Thanks
