If you quant score is decent and it's your verbal score bringing you down, some schools may cut you some slack. However, most top-ranked schools are unlikely to admit the vast majority of applicants with GMAT scores under 600. If you really want to apply to UCLA, go ahead and do so, but understand that it's a longshot, and that the applicants that UCLA does admit with scores under 600 are probably underrepresented minorities. You may want to target UCLA's part-time program, if you can, to improve your odds. Otherwise, consider applying to schools like Michigan State (Broad), Babson, USC (Moore), Pittsburgh, and Case Western. These are decent schools where your 580 won't be far from their median scores.
