You received a full ride scholarship from Rotman with a 3.19 GPA and 690 GMAT? I'm curious to know why you think you got the full ride.

I am not anticipating the scholarship. I've already been offered the full scholarship by Rotman. I was called by my admissions officer about receiving the scholarship and it is in my official admission offer.

That's amazing. What do you think in your profile/background contributed to receiving the offer?

I think it was a combination of things. First, Filipinos are not as common an applicant pool. Second, I think I was able to communicate my goals clearly and thoroughly in my interviews. Third, and most importantly, my career progression is quite unique that I moved from a multinational company to help start-up a division for a local company allowing me a leadership role that people my age usually don't experience.

Without a doubt Rotman even without the full-ride.
The full-ride makes it all the more easy to take the decision.
You could connect with some of the Rotman alumni who are in IB to get a clearer picture!
I was just checking on LinkedIN and see a whole lot of people working in IB who have an MBA from Rotman
Btw, Congrats mikeyap325 on the Joseph L. Rotman Scholarship(I hope that's the scholarship you got)

Wow. Good for you. I would definitely take the money. Rotman rarely gives a full-ride. Its also considered the best school in Canada for Finance. That said, those with IB experience may have more insights regarding the range of schools you've been admitted.

I second Aaliyah537 on Rotman not being very generous with scholarships.
From what I have read on their website only one exceptional student is given a full-ride.

I would like to re-iterate that Finance is Rotman's strongest suit and if you are eyeing
any big role in the Finance industry in Canada, Rotman is your best bet!

Here, it is not about only comparing MBA. it is about countries and opportunities. I think Rotman fits both the quality and the opportunities to stay In Canada. I lean towards it in you case.

Good luck

I appreciate all the input. Definitely my choice in applying to Rotman was influenced by the opportunities to work in Investment Banking in Canada and the school's strong reputation in the Canadian financial industry. My one concern about Rotman would be I think Rotman's "brand" outside of Canada should I ever choose to work somewhere other than Canada. The other schools I mentioned are in the top 20 bschools in the world. Of course there is also the idea that having a strong post-MBA role in a large IB in Canada (where there are more opportunities) would be better career wise than having to settle for something less in another country.

Those schools, albeit their ranks, are not known in every part of the world. I live in country and region where they can't recognize at all those schools. I have several instances that people in Europe do no know big schools in USA. If there is big alumni of any university in any place, people get to use the name a lot. My friend's German bosses do not know Kellogg or Duke . They know MIT and Harvard for different reason. Harvard is hall fame in business but MIT is famous for its science and engineering reputation.

Bottom line, you should investigate the place you want to end up living and work. You can benefit from bb post here.

I will take that into consideration definitely. I guess for me alumni from the European schools are more active in my part of the world hence my thoughts about brand. I would also prefer to get a job in London or Frankfurt which are larger financial hubs but then I am unsure about the availability of opportunity there at the moment.
