I found this on Manhattan Review SC guide:

In the case of a disjunctive possessive pronoun, using 'One' as a subject.
"One can only do one's best". What is the best fit his/one's and why?

Hi

I think the correct answer is "One can only do one's best" because the possessive form of ‘one’ is one’s, and ’do one's best’ or ‘do my best’ is an idiomatic expression, so the possessive adjective 'His' should not be picked.
