Stern (NYU) 2013 - Calling All Applicants

Admitted in December and I got a call from a 2nd year student to introduce himself and answer any questions I may have. Nice touch.

Not sure if my input will help international applicants here as my profile is a bit complicated but --

Application sent: 11/4
Status update: 11/29
Invited to interview: 12/23 - given options to interview in January or join Women in Stern event in February. Considered an offsite interview but they don't seem keen on it so I'm flying out for it in February!
Nationality: Dual US-Philippines, but raised in the Philippines and currently based in Hong Kong
Profile: 25 y/o, 2 years in marketing strategy in the Philippines, 1 year finance journalist in HK, 1 year strategy in HK. Strong previous involvement in film community in the Philippines, looking into the EMT program. 730 GMAT, 3.3 GPA from a uni in Manila.

Also just got an email a few days ago from a 2nd year MBA student checking in if I had any questions.

I am trying to submit my essays for R2 at the 11th hour..I am considering making a ppt with embedded audio for 3rd essay and will be done with it only by the deadline day...What size file is it possible to submit?? as I will not have enough time to mail a USB to reach them before the deadline date...any suggestions??

You will have to submit a usb there is no option for sending them a link so file size doesn't matter. However one piece of good news is that it doesn't have to reach by the deadline only has to be sent by the deadline so you can mail the USB/DVD postmarked LATEST by deadline date.

How you people have submitted - If I need to submit this degree award then an other headache of converting it into English from hindi and getting signed off from some Sarkari Babu

International Student Supplement- I did not see this type of requirement in other schools (H/S/B) , how important is to fill this up and should we give the accounting for full amount $ 90K?

Does anyone know if Stern requires official GMAT transcript? I am taking my exam on the day of the deadline, so wondering if I should put that in my optional essays or just self report my scores.

Congratulations!! I'll ask for the usual application timeline (submit date, under review date) if you don't mind.

Not that my prospects are looking so hot as my app's been under review since November, but hey, it's not over until it's over!

I submitted Nov 26, under review Dec 6, and invite today. I saw that interview dates go all the way to end of Feb so there is still time and lots of slots still left. Hang in there!!

Where did you find this information about location of off-site interviews? I don't see any such info! Can you post the link?

I think its a known fact that off site interviews are held in India, China and the UK in March. He is quoting the actual details from the interview scheduling website, logging into which requires an interview invitation.

I sent my official scores. To be safe, if I were you I'd report my scores during the exam.

Guys I'm a bit confused here about the transcript requirements.

The website says: "If you cannot obtain transcripts directly from the institution but you possess an original transcript, you may submit photocopies that have been verified by the embassy or consulate of the institution's country."

Does that mean a) the U.S. embassy in the country of my undergrad institution or b) my country's Foreign Ministry of any other institution that can verify the copy ('Apostille')?

Oh Yes, I see it now! So the location in India is confirmed as Delhi.
