From statement 1:

Number of bottles = 75*Number of Standard sized cartons.
Smaller cartons = 10 + Standard size cartons.
Insufficient.

From statement 2:
All the bottles are packed in 10 standard size cartons. So total number of bottles = 75*10 = 750.
Number of smaller cartons = 750/50 = 15.
Sufficient.

B is the answer.

A number of bottles are packed in standard size cartons with each holding 75 bottles. If these bottles were to be packed in smaller cartons with each can hold 50 bottles, how many smaller cartons would be needed to hold all the bottles?

(1) The number of smaller cartons needed is 10 more than the standard size cartons.
(2) All the bottles are packed in 10 standard size cartons.

As the size is getting 2/3rd, the number of cartons will become 3/2 or 1.5 times.

1. 1.5 times is 10 more so originally, 20 were used. Now, 20+10 or 20 x 1.5 = 30 will be needed.
Sufficient.

2. Originally, 10. So now, 10 x 1.5 = 15.
Sufficient.

Can anyone explain why the frst is suf? in my view, we should be given one more constant

See the no. smaller carton is 1.5 times the number of standard carton.
So, 1.5 x = x+10
Solve for x

I put it as this way:
75 x std = 50 x sml
If we are given any one of them, then we can solve the other.

1st statement: sml = std + 10. This will give us std =20, solve for sml.
2nd statement: 10 std means, 750 total. 750/50 = 15
Hence D.

PS: BUT, both the statements are giving 2 different sml numbers?!
