Re: After being dropped a certain ball always bounces back to 2/5 of the [#permalink]
Each bounce will impact its first bouncing height by 2/5,

so, if we want to find it's height after nth bounce -> X*(2/5)^(n-1)

here, x = 125, and n = 4

Substitute to get 8

After being dropped a certain ball always bounces back to 2/5 of the [#permalink]
Top Contributor
Solution:

Given that after each bounce it reaches 2/5 of the previous height,

=>After the second bounce it will reach 2/5 * 125.

=>After the third bounce it will reach 2/5 * 2/5 * 125.

=>After the fourth bounce it will reach 2/5 * 2/5 * 2/5 *125

= 8/125 * 125

=8 (option c)
