Hi everyone!
What do you think is the best way to spend a 6 month break after undergrad before one starts a full-time job, in terms of boosting one’s future MBA candidacy?
I received a full-time offer from an investment bank as an IB analyst but will be graduating end of the year. The offer is good for a July/August 2023 start.
I already plan to extensively study for and take the GMAT during this period but am afraid I will eventually be asked come admissions season about what I did in those 6 months, and I feel that saying I just studied for the GMAT would not be good.
Volunteering? Traveling? Interning at a startup? What do you guys think? I’m not a big traveler but am very into volunteering, and am also interested in startups. However I’m not sure how easy it is to land an internship at a startup, especially in the industry I’m interested in (biotech).
Should mention too that I'm aiming for an M7 program years from now!
Any input would be super appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hello
spiderman23,
It would be a good idea to take up activities that allow you to develop your leadership potential because that is an extremely crucial skill, especially considering you're young and may not have had too many such opportunities. The idea shouldn't be to just 'volunteer' or just 'intern'. The idea should be to have some sort of an impact on whatever is it that you choose to do.
That said, do assess where you truly stand with regard to your prep because getting that desired score for an M7 program is extremely important.
All the best!
