This is what I have gathered so far based on information from various sources. Before reading through, please understand that this is WHAT I HAVE UNDERSTOOD about the process. I may or may not be right. All profiles are divided into 4 buckets. (Nomenclature should be ignored, focus on the Idea) B1 : Elites. Tier 1 College; Top Firms; Stellar GMAT => Call for Interviews. (I believe these were amongst the first ones who got called for Interviews) B2 : Diversity candidates => Call for Interview (These were also called for interviews as part of the first wind) B3 : Pool applicants; some spike of sort but overall a general candidate (ex : Indian IT Male); Kept aside to be decided upon later (These will be sorted based on some score and will soon get calls. Ratio will be hella skewed) B4 : General pool applicant; No spike (Reject) Now, I think they got through the first and second buckets and sent them the shortlist mails since they are no brainers for ISB. Most of them WILL convert. Whoever’s left is in either of the other two buckets and stands a lesser chance of being shortlisted. Those shortlisted would again have a roughly 50 percent chance of converting. I can’t say this enough, this is based on what I have understood and pieced together based on information from various sources(Consultants, Alums, Rejected candidates etc).
Don’t think this is what ISB does. I cannot share the criteria but this isn’t it. There’s no bucketing.

Adcom doesn’t reveal their criteria. This ’bucket theory’ was perpetrated 4-5 years ago and since then, makes way through alums / consultants to groups every year. There have been many B3s who have received the calls already. The applications are randomly divided among the admin team to verify for completeness. As each admin complete their review, they are marked for completion. This should be clear from the way you guys received the completion mails. It wasn’t dependent upon when you submitted the app or the quality. And if you met a cutoff(for a lack of better term) that is pre decided, you get the call. Adcom has mentioned this in the past at various forums.

In fact, in one of the webinars I did with Amit in 2021 he imentioned that this bucket stuff is incorrect.

Also guys, the interview details in the past were share 3-6 days prior to the slot. So today or tomorrow, you could get notified for Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

But you are sure on 7th & 8th Mumbai dates right? I am asking because I am having an industry event this weekend in Delhi and completely confused on what to do.

Good attempt to find a theory! Unfortunately, in the limited number of people we cater, this has not been found true. In some cases B4 has got invites earlier than B1. Also, its not clear what is a "spike". Subjectivity has its own interpretations!!
Our suggestion - Do whatever is best for you, concentrate on yourself - how you can score more, prepare yourself better for interviews etc.
World is very simple, its we who make it complicated by "looking beyond"... So is admissions.

Is the interview related matter that has been discussed in the previous chats related to the ISB PGP (Normal mode) selection process? Or is it related to the Y.L.P./E.E.O. mode of entry?

Did any of you who submitted your application in R1 not get any mail back from ISB? I recently came across a person who had a 720 GMAT but hasn’t received any mail from ISB despite submitting her app on 10th September - no profile completed, review, or shortlisted mail.
