HELP??? How can I improve my GMAT score from 300 to 650? I took my first official GMAT and got 300 I have on more month to retake it? Do you think I can reach 650 in one month?

Its possible if you're a very quick learner and can spend 8-10 hours a day for 30 days straight.... I would say its definitely possible. Very very difficult but theres a chance.

I'd say if you can go over the manhattan books (1 book per 2 days) and sign up for gmatclub tests & e-gmat and spend 2-3 hours on each everyday then report back in 30 days.

I'd say do 50 quant questions per day, spend 2x times reviewing the questions you got wrong. In the last week go over all of OG and repeat the last step.

Good luck.

It depends on why you got a 300 on your first try. For instance, if you went into the test completely cold and didn't know what the different problem types meant, how much time you had, etc - then you probably have a lot of room to grow. For instance, maybe you didn't know what 'sufficient' meant in a Data Sufficiency problem - you'd probably miss every DS problem if that was the case, which would hurt your Quant score a lot. Once you understood that concept, you would probably see a massive increase in your Quant score.

On the other hand, if you got a 300 after studying for a while and understanding the basics of how to take the test, that means your score is low because you need to learn the content and improve your test-taking strategy. Both of those take time - probably more than a month. But you may want to wait until your second practice test (in a week or two) to determine how quickly you can improve.

As ccooley pointed out, it depends on the why behind the score gap. What were your practice test scores like (before your first GMAT)?

Hi Omha,

From your post, it's not clear how long you've been studying. At face value though, raising a 300 to a 650+ would likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you would have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?

Goals:
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
