I believe it's D. What's the OA? E has a syntactic expletive IT (in other words the IT doesn't have a referent)

I believe it's D as well.

Reason is , it in options A,C and E tries to refer something that is plural i.e If additional deposits of oil are found

with B, the able to be is awkward....hence D

I believe it is D.
"It" does not have clear referant so ACE are out.
In B- is able to be is awakward.

D it is. The 'it' in other choices seems to refer to the ACT OF FINDING THE DEPOSITS and not THE DEPOSITS. Thats wrong.

No referent on "it", so eliminate A, B, and E, "amount that is able to be used" is wordy. IMO, D.

Thanks for awesome explanation. Actually I missed the answer because I didnt see "it" referring to plural deposits.

"it" cannot refer to plural "additional deposits"

It has to be D , here is the explaination :

A)Expand cannt be used to signify increase
B) that is able is wordy and awkward
C) that is able is wordy and awkward
D) correct
E)it doesnt go with deposits which is plural
