I believe it's D. What's the OA? E has a syntactic expletive IT (in other words the IT doesn't have a referent)

I believe it's D as well.

Reason is , it in options A,C and E tries to refer something that is plural i.e If additional deposits of oil are found

with B, the able to be is awkward....hence D

D it is. The 'it' in other choices seems to refer to the ACT OF FINDING THE DEPOSITS and not THE DEPOSITS. Thats wrong.

No referent on "it", so eliminate A, B, and E, "amount that is able to be used" is wordy. IMO, D.

Thanks for awesome explanation. Actually I missed the answer because I didnt see "it" referring to plural deposits.
