I will be straight with you, this does have a negative impact on the legitimacy of the recommendation. However if layoffs are going on, I can definitely see why this might be necessary and agree you should mention this in the optional essay or additional information section. I would also recommend that he include a link to his LINKED IN profile after his signature line in the recommendation so they can corroborate that this person is linked to your company.

I have the same query. One of my recommenders does not have an official mail ID. He hasn't been allocated one. Will it jeopardize my chances of getting an admit?
Any latest inputs on the same ?
