Hi everybody. Newbie here so sorry if I'm breaking any rules. I was hoping to get my profile reviewed for a couple of competitive finance masters programs that I'm interested in.

Undergrad major: BSc Accounting and Finance + CFA L1 Candidate
CGPA: 3.96 (batch topper)
Have strong coursework in subjects like econometrics, quantitative finance, linear algebra, derivatives, data science and CS. Also have a good portfolio of hands-on projects in python, financial analysis, portfolio management etc.
GRE: 334 (167Q 167V)
Currently working on a research project on ESG investments as well.
Cofounder of a welfare foundation focusing on minority communities.
Vice president of the Finance club at my uni - also a national finalist in the CFA Ethics challenge.
Work experience:
1) Corporate finance internship at a Fortune 25
2) Research analyst at a boutique tech consulting firm

I am targeting 3 programs. MFE at Oxford, MS Finance at LSE and MS Finance at MIT. My main motivation for attending these programs is to break into an equity research role. My main concern is that my GRE quant is just an 89th percentile. Should I be retaking it to aim for a 170? I can easily raise it because i got a 170 in my diagnostic but just happened to get some seriously weird questions unfortunately, but not sure if its worth the time and money involved. Oxford's MFE has a 85 percentile quant cutoff for applicants and for MIT the median is 170 while the middle 80th percentile is 166-170.

Would be really grateful for any feedback, thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am looking to apply to Master's in Finance and/ or Economics in LSE / UCL / Imperial.

I am 26F, from Lebanon.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate from the American University of Beirut (prestigious university in the middle east- not sure if it's known elsewhere). I graduated with Honor's with a minor in Mathematics (GPA: 3.4).

GMAT: 720 (Q49, V38)

Work experience: around 3-4 years of engineering experience in Supply Chain and Datacenters. Haven't taken any leadership role, mostly analyst and project management roles. I have been working in Dubai for the past 3 years so I have been exposed to a multinational work environment. I speak Arabic and French.

Looking for a career change into consulting or asset management.

I am also considering applying for an MBA in LBS. But given the high cost (around 100K), I would rather go for a master's degree.

Appreciate the help.

Hi everyone; I'm still doing my undergrad but plan to apply for an MSc Finance after graduation, and thus would like some pointers on what to work on. :)

Nationality:
21M from Canada; ethnically Italian so I could apply for an Italian passport if a european school catches my interest.

Academic Background:
3.0 GPA (currently) in a niche industry specific BSc at the University of British Columbia (#37 world, #2 in Canada from times rankings). GPA isn't stellar, but I was able to pull up my grades from straight Cs to straight As. (Note my school does not officially calculate GPA, so this is just a rough calculation based on a standard US GPA calculation). Graduating April 2023.

GMAT:
I have not yet taken the GMAT; excpecting high 600s - low 700s based on my prep. I have lots of time before I plan to apply, so this can be raised.

Work Experience:
Internship as a financial analyst at a mid-sized industrial company in my industry. It was this job actually that piqued my interest in pursuing an MSc in Finance. Possibly another internship in the coming year.

Leadership:
Currently treasurer for a recreation club. Was president for a year when our current active president was at an internship.

Post-Master Goals:
Investment banking in either Japan or China, depending on the school I attend.

I am looking to apply for programs in Asia, specifically Japan or China (Waseda MSc Finance or Peking MSc Finance). Likely will apply to others, but these two are my main targets. The admissions competitiveness of these programs isn't available based on what I can find, so I don't really know where I stand.

Thanks for any advice!

BIG issue with my profile : I messed around a lot during freshman year and only got it together in the following years, my grades are very skewed. Unfortunately I had most of my stats/maths classes were in freshman year so I had B's and C's on those.

Hi everyone! How are you doing?
I'm a third year (almost fourth) undergraduate student from Argentina, and I really need help with someone evaluating my profile since I'm a bit lost. Thank you!!

Background and nationality: I was born in China, but due to my parents' job, I've also lived in Cuba and now Argentina (for around 14 years).
Age: 22 by the time I apply
Undergrad Information: I'm a 3rd year Business Economics student. My university is ranked as the 2nd best private school in Argentina this year, and it's well known for its Economics and Business degrees. I enrolled with a 35% scholarship for being one of the top students in high school.
Targeted grad schools: ESSEC and HEC (master in finance or business analytics)
GPA: 9.05/10 (it will probably be 8.89/10 at the end of this semester)
GMAT/GRE: I haven't taken it yet, but it's expected to be around 680 (I'd try for a 700)
TOEFL: 110
Work experience:
I had a very short (2 weeks) internship in high school in an important financial service company. That's when I decided to study something related to finance
I'm starting an 1 year internship in Visa next year, and I'd probably continue working there full time when I finish college
Extracurricural activities:
I can speak 4 languages fluently --> Spanish (native), Chinese (native), English (advanced, I had taken several courses taught in English for the IB exams), Italian (intermediate, I have the CILS B2 certificate) and I'm also learning Japanese (basic).
I had obtained 2 scholarships from Banco Santander (I'm expecting a third one) to study commercial English (by British Council) and learn more about Emotional Intelligence and Neuroleadership (by ESADE)
I was elected as referrer to first year students by my university for having a good academic performance
I had been an IB exams coach for the last 3 years, and I had also been a tutor for primary school students for 1 year
Post Master goals: I'm really interested in Fintech
Anything else? I don't know if this is important, but I'm pretty good with technology --> Excel (advanced), R (advanced), Python (advanced). I had also applied for a schorlarship to study Machine Learning (by MIT)

I also wanted to add that I'll probably apply on the fourth round, and in my opinion my profile isn't that outstanding, it's better to wait a year and apply on the first round?
