Hi ghdc,

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function (and that you took these CATs in a realistic fashion that matches-up with how you will take the Official GMAT), your 3 CAT score results show that you essentially performed the same each time (about 620 +/- a few points). You handle certain aspects of the GMAT consistently well, but you also make certain consistent mistakes.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What specific study materials have you used so far?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to? If you are planning to apply soon, then what specific application deadlines are you facing?

Hi ghdc,

I'm also wondering, why have you not taken an official practice exam? Also, in the meantime, here is a great article you can check out:

Re: Need Help Improving GMAT Score [#permalink]
I did not take the official practice exam because my score is still low and I did not want to use them up at this point. I am saving them for when I reach at least 700. Please let me know if it makes sense.

1) How many hours do you typically study each week?

I am a working professional, so didn't get much time to prepare so far - I spent ~ 20 hours per week. Took a week off next week, so I'm hoping to pace as much as possible in this time.

2) What specific study materials have you used so far?

I've reviewed the Manhattan guides (twice so far) and formulae from GMAT Club's Quant PDF.
Practiced ~ 270 questions of the 700+ difficulty level problems from GMAT Club - I completed CR - 43 Qs (40% correct), SC - 115 Qs (43% correct), DS - 77 Qs (43% correct), PS - 22 Qs (55% correct), RC - 13 Qs (69% correct)

3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to? If you are planning to apply soon, then what specific application deadlines are you facing?

I'm targeting R2 for all schools - I have not decided on the specific schools yet as I wanted to make sure I have the GMAT score in place first. I have a 10+ years work experience and I am a female from India working in IT, so I'm already at a disadvantage here. I do not want to give an additional reason for the AdCom to reject my application based on GMAT.

Coming to tentative list of colleges, I'm aiming for MBA in Emory among US B schools and Schulich from Canada (I am happy to take any suggestions for schools to consider). I am specifically looking for 1 year programs, but in case that doesn't work out, I am thinking to apply for 1 year MS in Data Science/ML/AI programs in US as well.

Hello ghdc,

A score in the range of 620 in the GMAT mocks tells the entire story about how well prepared you are for the GMAT official test and how to change the gear now to meet the target score of 720+ in reality.

You can schedule a Free counseling session for 20 mins with one of our expertshttps://calendly.com/mathrevolution/1-on-1-session for detailed advice on your current study plans.

A couple of things that can be a noticeable barrier to your scores would be some or all of the below.

• No expert support (maybe) who can tutor, analyze, and guide you during your learning especially on hard level questions while stably hitting middle-level questions.
• Lack of many updated questions and practice in the recent exam trend
• Not well aligned with time to solve questions.

Since we are a math expert, we will recommend you go through our post on the GMAT club: Breakdown of GMAT math questions and types: https://gmatclub.com/forum/overview-of- ... l#p1641411

We recommend that you must learn the Variable Approach for solving DS questions and the IVY approach for solving PS questions in order to improve your accuracy and save time while solving the question types.

Register with MathRevolution https://www.mathrevolution.com/member/signup to get access to our 7-day full on-demand course (27 topics, 490 subtopics, and 1,500 questions) for free trial lessons.

700+ level questions https://www.mathrevolution.com/gmat/questionbank are separately available, too. Start with the learning of the concepts. Make a habit of taking notes during the initial learning of the concepts.

The day regular mock tests show the consistent score of Q48+ with V37+, then it will reflect the positive change in the score, and hence, your confidence will boost up. Gradually, with the help of mock tests, you will be able to compete with time and therefore, will be able to learn time management.

We appreciate your time and patience in reading this reply.

Success is within your reach.
Good luck!
