I may be completely disillusioned here, but I'm looking to get into some of the top MBA schools. Chance me?
Background: Was in a 8 year medical program with a top med school in the country. Started a business near the tail end of my senior year (6 months ago) and its doing well enough for me to want to quit med school (I hadn't matriculated yet). Started a second business 1 month ago. Total monthly revenue (since it hasnt been a year yet) is ~55,000, and I'm taking home $3,000-$5,000 every week. I manage 2 full time employees, 2 contractors, and 3 part time employees, and my team for the second company (revenue is inly ~10k/month) consists of 4 people (they have a share in the company). I'll be applying to b-school in 3 years, so by then I'm hoping my company will be a lot bigger.
GMAT: 710 (took it to see what i could get, only studied for 2 weeks. Could probably bring this up to a 750+ if I gave it a couple months)
GPA: 3.7 (scienceGPA-3.6, BusinessGPS close to a 4.0)
EC's in college:
Emergency medical technician (associates degree+worked),
Lab research (typical bio major stuff:P),
piano,
president of a minor club.
I also graduated in 3 years with a bio major and a business minor.
Final goal: I want to be a medical entrepreneur and change the way things are run.
Letters of req: I could potentially get a good one from a professor, but in 2 years that may not be appropriate. My staff, clients and mentors would be more than happy to provide this though.
Goal schools: I want to get into a top 10 business school so I can learn amongst the top talent in the country. My goal school is Stanford or Harvard, but I'd also be open to mid level ivies such as Cornell or Dartmouth.
Am I completely insane here? Obviously, I'm doing okay without b-school and I dont mean to be cocky, but I wouldnt think it to be worth my time to go to anywhere but the best. Thanks for chancing me
